I first encountered Mike Podolny in 2001 when I was a new business owner. He had done a successful turnaround for a friend of mine and I wanted him to look at my business and tell me what I could do to avoid needing turnaround services in the future. He looked at my business in some detail, and told me there was nothing he could do that would make both of us money. This, from a consultant, impressed me deeply. Not long after that, I had my first crisis in business when my bookkeeper went AWOL, and I was able to call on Mike for urgently need help. He stepped in and did the required forensic accounting, rebuilding of our systems and negotiations with the IRS, and he helped me hire a new bookkeeper and accountant, both of whom are still with me today. In the following years I called on Mike for various business consultancies, including leadership training for my key personnel, an emergency succession plan, and long term transition planning. Mike has always shown himself to be scrupulously honest and fair. He has patiently helped me build a sense of what I want to get out of business in the long term. I am now at the point of completely transitioning out, I have been using his services again to plan my exit.
